Timeline
Transport & General Engineering Company Ltd was founded in 1955, the year 2005 was an exciting year for T&G as we celebrated this historic milestone.
In the late 1950’s steel truck & trailer bodies were the requirements of the Heavy Transport Industry, the company also manufactured & designed Tilt deck Trailers & low loader Transporters. Then in 1969 the company saw the need for greater weight savings to increase payloads & introduced the very first “aluminium” body.
We are the originator of alloy bodies, not the imitator.
As the demand for alloy units grew, a decision was made by management to concentrate on alloy bulk tippers. Transport Trailers is now the market leader, with over 50 years experience in the Heavy Transport Industry.
The new Millennium represented a period of exciting growth for T&G as demand continued to grow for our Transport Trailer product. Since the company built it's new premesis, the workshop has undergone two additional extensions to meet customer demand for new equipment and also to service the large number of transport trailer units now on NZ roads.
